Las Vegas Information Security (TCM Security)

About the Company
Las Vegas Information Security (LVIS) is a cybersecurity consultancy founded by Alex Tushinsky. Operating from Henderson, Nevada, the company focuses on providing customized, practical cybersecurity solutions for small businesses across the United States. Alex’s company had existed in various forms for years but officially became Las Vegas Information Security in 2021. His goal was to help startups and smaller enterprises, often neglected by larger IT firms, protect their businesses against cyber threats. LVIS focuses on prevention and helping businesses before they are hit by cyberattacks rather than providing damage control after an incident occurs.
Idea Behind Company
The inspiration for LVIS came after Alex's experiences as a software developer and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a fintech startup. He noticed a gap in cybersecurity services for small businesses, who often assumed they were too small to be targeted. Realizing that cybersecurity incidents, such as ransomware attacks, could devastate small businesses, Alex shifted his focus to offering affordable solutions aimed at preventing these problems. LVIS prioritizes proactive measures and education to keep small enterprises safe from cyber threats.
Creating the Company
Alex officially launched LVIS as part of his long-term entrepreneurial journey. While he had been working in the tech field for years, his company took shape with a clear mission in 2021 after several interactions with small business owners who had experienced cyberattacks. He identified the need for common-sense, practical cybersecurity solutions that would not overwhelm smaller businesses. Through trial and error, Alex developed a streamlined set of controls designed specifically for small enterprises. His goal was to make cybersecurity accessible and understandable, focusing on prevention through clear guidance rather than over-complicated systems.
Launching the Business
Launching Las Vegas Information Security was a gradual process. Alex started by forming an LLC and establishing the LVIS brand as a DBA in 2021. He initially struggled to build the website and find the right messaging to attract customers. Despite working on marketing efforts, including TV spots and Facebook ads, customer acquisition proved challenging. Alex relied heavily on referrals and networking within the industry while also teaching cybersecurity courses on platforms like Pluralsight. Although the company was bootstrapped and faced marketing hurdles, Alex remained committed to growing the business and refining his strategies for outreach.
Earnings
Today, LVIS generates $14K per month in revenue, with steady year-over-year growth since its inception in 2016. While Alex continues to face challenges in reaching new clients, especially in the highly competitive cybersecurity field, he remains optimistic about the future. Through bootstrapping and reinvesting earnings into marketing and operations, LVIS has expanded its service offerings and built a solid foundation. Alex's long-term vision includes increasing customer acquisition through diversified marketing channels, educational tools, and mobile applications designed to help small businesses self-evaluate their cybersecurity needs.
