Idea Behind Company
The idea for Parcelmagic was born during the COVID-19 pandemic when home delivery services became essential. As businesses and individuals faced difficulty getting their items delivered, Neel identified a need for a fast and reliable logistics service in Bangladesh. With most courier services being physically demanding and inefficient, Parcelmagic aimed to create a more streamlined, tech-driven solution.
The surge in online shopping during the pandemic highlighted the importance of an efficient delivery system. Neel and his team conceptualized a fully automated, user-friendly service that could be accessed by merchants and consumers alike, helping bridge the gap between e-commerce demand and delivery capabilities.
Creating the Company
Neel and his team began by developing the Parcelmagic website for merchants and a mobile app for individual deliveries. The platforms allowed users to manage their parcels, track deliveries, and monitor transactions. The merchant panel provided detailed analytics and management tools to streamline operations for businesses of all sizes.
Incorporating user-friendly features such as real-time tracking, bulk order processing, and automated invoicing, Parcelmagic was designed with efficiency and customer satisfaction in mind. The system also allowed businesses to print address labels, manage customer details, and streamline logistics, making the entire delivery process smoother and faster for clients.
Launching the Business
Parcelmagic was officially launched in December 2021, during the peak of the pandemic's demand for delivery services. The soft launch, held in Dhaka, was a high-profile event attended by notable business figures. The company quickly gained traction, receiving its first order shortly after launch and experiencing rapid growth.
The initial months were marked by a successful marketing strategy, including social media ads targeting businesses operating on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. The company also optimized its website for SEO, driving traffic through key search terms related to delivery services in Dhaka. Offline marketing efforts, such as sponsoring local events, further helped raise awareness and attract customers.
Earnings
Within just six months of its launch, Parcelmagic had onboarded over 100 merchants, and the company achieved monthly revenues of $30K, delivering over 10,000 parcels nationwide. Despite the rapid success, the company ultimately shut down in 2023.
