About the Company
JetPrint, launched in December 2017, offers print-on-demand services primarily to e-commerce sellers. Their core products include watches, shoes, balls, bags, and mouse pads, with a special focus on watches and reflective footballs. From humble beginnings, JetPrint has grown to $700,000 in monthly revenue, establishing a significant presence in the print-on-demand market.
Within two months of its launch, JetPrint's app was not only approved but also recommended by Shopify, leading to prominent visibility in the Shopify App Store. This early success was pivotal in gaining traction and user adoption.
Today, JetPrint employs 169 people and serves a global market, continuously innovating and expanding its product offerings to meet the growing demand for personalized products.
Idea Behind Company
Mark's interest in printing began in childhood with a fascination for CMYK color mixing. He developed coding skills in high school and later founded a software development company specializing in SaaS and ERP solutions for manufacturing enterprises.
In 2015, Mark discovered Printful and saw the potential in the print-on-demand industry, which was not yet popular in China. Realizing the market's potential for personalized products, he leveraged his IT background and network to enter the print-on-demand space, initially focusing on basic T-shirt printing.
By 2016, Mark began developing relationships with factories to offer print-on-demand services, leading to the founding of JetPrint in 2017. His early experiences in software development and understanding of market needs were crucial in shaping JetPrint's direction.
Creating the Company
Mark devoted time to studying the print-on-demand business while managing his software development company. He formed an independent IT team to develop JetPrint, focusing on creating an app that facilitated customization, integrated with Shopify stores, and streamlined customer payments.
The development process emphasized the mockup generator, a key component for the print-on-demand business. Despite starting with a rudimentary platform and relying on third-party licensing for additional features, JetPrint's initial strategy targeted e-commerce sellers on Shopify.
The IT team played a significant role in business operations during JetPrint's early days. As the company grew, new business teams were recruited to handle customer communication and order processing, ensuring service quality and scalability.
Launching the Business
Recognizing Shopify's popularity in China's e-commerce sector, JetPrint submitted its app for review. They standardized their code, protected user privacy, and conducted rigorous compatibility testing to meet Shopify's standards.
Within two months of launching, Shopify approved and recommended JetPrint, featuring it prominently in the Shopify App Store. This endorsement led to 1,000 app installations within six months. The key to this success was offering unique products and maintaining high product quality.
JetPrint then launched a marketing campaign targeting e-commerce sellers, leveraging forums, Facebook groups, and engaging videos to showcase their products. This strategy resulted in a 30% month-on-month increase in users, driving consistent growth.
Earnings
JetPrint generates $700,000 in monthly revenue, with a stable and growing order volume. The company has experienced a 95% increase in daily user registrations compared to the previous year.
Looking ahead, JetPrint plans to collaborate with international manufacturers to enhance product transportation efficiency. They are also exploring integrations with more e-commerce platforms to expand their reach and serve a broader audience.
Mark emphasizes the importance of understanding market needs and fostering a creative, relaxed work environment to drive innovation. By focusing on service quality, innovation, and accurate audience targeting, JetPrint continues to solidify its position in the global print-on-demand industry.
