Loni Le Van-Etter founded the spa in Centennial, CO, in 2016, following a successful career as an electrical engineer. The spa is designed to be a one-stop shop for all things beauty and wellness, with services including hair salons, nail services, massages, body wraps, laser treatments, and more. Loni’s goal for Glosshouz is to create an inviting and friendly environment where guests feel comfortable and confident in the expertise of the spa’s staff. Over the years, the spa has built a strong customer base, with over 1,000 members who benefit from discounted services through the BFF Savings Program.
Idea Behind Company
The idea for Glosshouz was born out of Loni’s desire to create a fulfilling career that balanced her professional life with her personal responsibilities as a mother. After years of working long hours in the corporate world, Loni felt the need for a change and was inspired to pursue entrepreneurship. The concept for Glosshouz came from her passion for creating a business that catered to women’s beauty and wellness needs. Loni researched various franchise opportunities but ultimately decided to create something unique, combining multiple services under one roof to provide convenience and a wide range of options for her clients.
Creating the Company
The creation of Glosshouz involved careful planning and execution. Loni first had to secure funding by presenting a business plan to the bank, outlining her vision and projected revenue growth. Finding the perfect location was another critical step, requiring extensive research and negotiations to ensure the space met all the necessary requirements for a spa. Loni worked closely with architects and contractors to design a space that was both functional and luxurious, featuring treatment rooms, a relaxation area, a party room, and more. After months of hard work and preparation, Glosshouz opened its doors in May 2016, just nine months after signing the lease.
Launching the Business
The launch of Glosshouz was strategically timed for Mother’s Day, a busy period for spas. Loni and her team were well-prepared, having organized the space, tested systems, and practiced service protocols before opening day. Initially, attracting clients was a challenge, but through targeted advertising on Google and Facebook, as well as word-of-mouth referrals, the business gradually grew its customer base. Over time, Glosshouz has seen a significant increase in daily appointments, now averaging 100-120 per day. The spa’s success is attributed to its commitment to customer satisfaction, with a focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every guest leaves happier than when they arrived.
Earnings
Glosshouz’s business model has evolved into a robust recurring membership program, with about 62% of annual revenue coming from members. The BFF Savings Program has been a key driver of growth, encouraging clients to try new services and visit the spa more frequently. Loni also attributes the growth of the medical aesthetics side of the business to the skill and reputation of her team. The spa has continued to thrive, with revenue reaching $3.3 million in 2022. Looking ahead, Loni is focused on expanding Glosshouz through franchising, offering other entrepreneurs the opportunity to replicate the success of her spa.
