Idea Behind Company
The founders of Filmbaker met during college, where they started making short films on social issues. These early projects, fueled by a passion for storytelling rather than technical know-how, earned them two National Awards. Although the accolades were gratifying, the real motivation behind starting Filmbaker was their love of storytelling.
Their college experience provided the foundation for what would eventually become Filmbaker, with the team producing over 80 films. They realized their potential to tell impactful stories through film and decided to channel this passion into a business. They identified a gap in the market for quality storytelling through video, which would become their core offering.
Creating the Company
Filmbaker was officially launched in October 2017 with an initial investment of 4 to 5 lakhs INR (approximately $5,000 to $7,000 USD). As a service-oriented company, they did not require significant capital but relied heavily on consistent quality and dedication to growing their expertise. They steadily built their reputation through delivering creative, well-crafted videos tailored to client needs.
The founders focused on every step of the production process, from ideation to final execution. They approached each project by first understanding the client’s needs, followed by drafting concepts, scripting, and creating storyboards. This thorough process allowed them to deliver videos that aligned with client expectations and brand goals.
Launching the Business
The launch of Filmbaker wasn’t driven by careful calculations or intricate business plans. It was purely a passion project for the founders, who realized they could monetize their skills in storytelling. The team started by establishing a web presence through their website, social media, and local directories. This allowed potential clients to find them easily, which was crucial in their early days.
From the start, the founders emphasized delivering value with every interaction, whether it was a pitch or a phone call.
