About the Company

echoVME Digital, based in Chennai, India, is an award-winning digital marketing agency that serves prominent brands like Nippo and Casagrand. Its reputation is built on providing excellent marketing solutions across industries such as real estate, food & beverages, and personal branding. Sorav Jain also founded Digital Scholar, a training platform designed to emulate the fast-paced environment of marketing agencies. Digital Scholar’s curriculum serves a diverse audience, including college graduates, entrepreneurs, and sales professionals.

Digital Scholar is the first of its kind in India, offering an "agency-styled" approach to training in modules like SEO, social media, and content writing. Both companies emphasize continuous growth and are driven by innovation, strong client relationships, and quality service delivery.

Idea Behind Company

Sorav’s fascination with digital marketing began during his college years, where platforms like Orkut sparked his interest. He chose to pursue his passion despite familial expectations of joining the family textile business. His professional blogging and online engagement helped him establish a global presence in the marketing community, eventually leading to his decision to start echoVME Digital.

Through years of hiring and collaborating with digital marketers, Sorav identified a gap in quality training. This realization inspired Digital Scholar. With 10 years of experience in agency operations, Sorav sought to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry expertise, focusing on preparing students for real-world marketing challenges.

Creating the Company

echoVME Digital started modestly, operating from a small office with a team of five. Initially, the agency managed a mix of cooperative and demanding clients, which helped refine its service quality and client retention strategies. Over time, it expanded to a team of 60 specialists and a portfolio featuring some of India’s leading brands.

Digital Scholar required extensive planning to develop a robust curriculum and hire expert trainers. Sorav leveraged his agency's resources, recruiting experienced team members to lead training modules. The institute also embraced trial and error to fine-tune its offerings, ensuring students gain practical agency-like experience.

Launching the Business

The launch of echoVME Digital was unstructured, beginning with freelance clients and gaining momentum after a major contract with a Spanish brand. This success enabled Sorav to fully transition from his family business to his entrepreneurial journey.

Digital Scholar’s launch was more structured, involving months of preparation to finalize the brand name, curriculum, and operational processes. The institute’s first batch received overwhelming positive feedback, validating Sorav's vision. Free sessions and educational events were key to drawing initial audiences for both ventures.

Earnings

Both businesses are financially thriving, with Digital Scholar contributing significantly to the combined $480,000 annual revenue. echoVME Digital generates leads through SEO optimization, referral programs, and corporate education sessions.

For Digital Scholar, the referral system, comprehensive SEO strategy, and free educational events ensure steady enrollment. The institute transitioned smoothly to online training during the pandemic, showcasing adaptability. Strong client and student relations, supported by clear communication and robust follow-ups, further ensure consistent growth and revenue.
