Assuras is a global consulting firm that provides solutions to companies facing critical challenges, particularly during growth stages. Their primary focus is to help organizations overcome difficult transitions by developing methodologies and strategies tailored to each client. Assuras differentiates itself from other firms by bringing together diverse teams with expertise in various fields to offer alternative perspectives. This unique approach allows them to solve complex issues that require full-scale pivots for the clients' success.

Tyler King’s company also emphasizes the importance of making real, impactful changes for clients. They take on major challenges, and their services are aimed at large companies, typically those with 500-2000 employees, who are ready to scale their operations or need to re-define their strategies.

Idea Behind Company

Tyler King's entrepreneurial journey began early in high school when he started a technology service company, CSR Technology Group, Inc. Initially focused on computer repair, the business grew into a broader technology field force. After successfully exiting from CSR, he founded Incorre, a consulting firm that provided executive coaching and leadership advisory services. Incorre’s core mission was to assist executives in addressing challenges and developing effective solutions.

Over time, Incorre’s practices and ideas were absorbed into Assuras. The vision for Assuras emerged from Tyler’s previous consulting experiences, focusing on high-level problem-solving and developing methodologies that could significantly impact organizations. His passion for helping leaders solve critical problems fueled the creation of Assuras.

Creating the Company

The process of creating CopySmiths involved a significant shift from running a traditional agency model to establishing a productized service. Katrina realized that to scale her business effectively, she needed to step back from the daily grind of client work and focus on building systems and processes that would facilitate growth. This mindset shift was influenced by her reading of "Work the System" by Sam Carpenter, which emphasized the importance of setting up clear processes for efficiency.

Katrina began by documenting her workflows and creating a comprehensive internal knowledge base, which became the foundation for CopySmiths’ operations. Using tools like Google Sites, she outlined standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various tasks, from invoicing clients to writing article briefs. This focus on documentation and training allowed her to onboard new writers effectively and maintain a consistent quality of work.

To build her team, Katrina leveraged online platforms and communities, posting job openings and connecting with potential writers. By creating a personal connection with candidates and providing a clear understanding of what they could expect from CopySmiths, she was able to assemble a talented team dedicated to delivering high-quality blog articles.

Launching the Business

Launching Assuras came with typical startup challenges, but Tyler's previous ventures helped him fund the initial stages. The firm faced significant costs, including office space, furniture, equipment, and marketing efforts. However, by offering risk-free consulting to early clients, Assuras quickly proved its worth and gained traction.

Tyler also relied on financing strategies like securing a $1.2 million line of credit to cover labor costs. Marketing efforts focused heavily on online advertising and PR, which helped drive early success. Additionally, the firm’s network and referrals contributed to client acquisition, enabling Assuras to scale effectively.

Earnings

Assuras generates $433,000 per month in revenue, with a team of 27 employees. The company’s revenue growth has been fueled by its ability to solve critical challenges for clients and offer tailored consulting services. A key part of their retention strategy is delivering results and building strong client relationships, which has led to numerous referrals and repeat business.

The firm also uses a data-driven approach to track marketing efforts, optimize keywords, and refine strategies to attract new clients. Assuras continues to grow by maintaining a strong focus on talent acquisition, ensuring that their consultants bring the expertise needed to deliver impactful results.
