Adjust Media

About the Company
Adjust Media, founded in 2018 by Uri Weinberger, is a full-service digital strategy agency based in Toronto, Canada. The company provides a range of services including Paid Media Management, Email Management, and Creative Services to small and medium-sized direct-to-consumer (DTC) eCommerce brands. Adjust Media has a team of five full-time employees and works with around 15 clients on a monthly basis. The company has been able to scale its operations effectively, serving over 120 brands in its five years of operation, with the goal of supporting and growing its clients' businesses.
Uri’s second business, Milky Mama Canada, is an eCommerce store he runs with his wife, where they apply the same digital marketing principles used at Adjust Media. While Milky Mama is an essential part of Uri's entrepreneurial journey, Adjust Media remains his primary focus, and by the end of 2021, it had grossed nearly $1 million.
Idea Behind Company
The idea for Adjust Media wasn't about a groundbreaking innovation but rather about leveraging Uri’s deep knowledge of advertising to provide a service-oriented digital marketing agency. Uri studied business with a marketing specialization in Toronto, which led to an internship at an advertising agency. Over time, he moved up the ranks, learning how agencies function, manage clients, execute strategies, and bill for services.
Despite enjoying his job, Uri found that his salary wasn’t enough to cover the cost of living in Toronto. To supplement his income, he began consulting on the side, answering advertising questions on Shopify Forums and providing free advice. As his side hustle grew, he realized the potential of his consulting work, which brought in almost 80% of his full-time salary with significantly less time commitment. This led him to take the plunge and quit his job in early 2017 to focus on growing his own business.
Creating the Company
Uri took a conservative approach to building Adjust Media, starting as a side hustle while still working full-time. Over six months, he slowly transitioned from his job to his consulting business, UW Consulting, which eventually evolved into Adjust Media. Initially, Uri worked alone and focused on free content marketing, offering advice on Shopify Forums and Facebook eCommerce groups. His strategy of providing value without expecting anything in return helped him build credibility, grow his client base, and land higher-quality clients.
As his business grew, Uri realized the need to expand beyond his capacity. He started hiring talented individuals to help scale the business, a decision that led to the official launch of Adjust Media in 2018. Uri made his first hire in April of that year, and Adjust Media was born as a legitimate agency.
Launching the Business
When Uri officially launched Adjust Media, he focused on retaining and acquiring clients by providing value-driven content and excellent service. Instead of running paid media for his agency, he used platforms like YouTube, blogs, and his Facebook community to share case studies, industry updates, and insights. These free resources brought in new clients organically.
Uri also maintained a selective client roster, aiming to manage around 15 clients at a time. His onboarding process involved a discovery call, where he ensured the business was a good fit for both parties before agreeing to work together. Over time, Uri fine-tuned his services, focusing on paid media, email marketing, and creative services for his clients. His client-centric approach, along with his team’s excellent communication and performance, led to high retention rates, with many clients staying on for over two years.
Earnings
Adjust Media has grown significantly since its inception, with Uri reporting nearly $1 million in revenue by the end of 2021. The business operates on a high-margin, low-overhead model, with no contracts and minimal fixed costs. Uri’s primary expense is employee salaries, and he makes it a priority to hire and retain top talent by offering competitive pay.
In 2021, the company grossed $985,000, marking a 25% increase from the previous year. While financial growth is important, Uri’s focus has shifted toward improving his management skills and maintaining a balance between his professional and personal life. Looking ahead, Uri hopes to potentially sell Adjust Media within the next 3-5 years, while also exploring new interests such as podcasting.
